Apparently they don't screen for dickheads when choosing education professionals.
Actually, it isn't even just the way the gay kids got treated that bugs me. There's also that whole freakout of the principle over "public displays of affection." Because we all know civilization will end if kids kiss each other.
Sigh. I'm so sick of my culture being controlled by 2000 year old ideas of morality.

I have to say that I'm in total shock that the ACLU is only asking for a reprimand. At this stage in the game, it's time to start playing some hardball, and make it clear that certain behaviors will not be tolerated.
Of course, in general I find this woman's desperate need to keep track of all the couples at the school to be creepy as all hell.

Aargh indeed. Especially coming after all the hysteria surrounding the Day of Silence this year -- don't know if you folks have that, or heard about it -- school kids, on their own, hold a day of silence at school to show solidarity with gays, lesbians, transgendered, etc, and to protest the violence and intimidation they face. The Far Right, true to form, went apeshit. If you read back a bit in Ed Bryant's blog, he talks all about it. It will make you really, really pissed. There are some incredibly ugly people in the world.
